Machinery production and transportation are inseparable from the chain, and the use of the transportation chain can be said to use the chain as a traction and carrier to carry materials. Today, let ’s take a closer look at the conveyor chain!

Conveying chain

How the conveyor chain works

The chain conveyor line is on the load-bearing chain, and a higher load-bearing roller attachment is added between each link to load the goods.

The basic structure and characteristics of the conveyor chain

1, prime mover: The prime mover is the source of power for the conveying chain. Generally, AC motors are used.

2. Driving device: The motor is connected to the head of the conveyor chain through the driving device. The functions to be realized are usually: speed reduction, mechanical speed regulation and safety protection.

3. Tensioning device: The function of the tensioning device is mainly used to close the tail shaft.

4. Electric control device: The function of the electric control device is mainly used to control the driving device.

Three stages of conveyor chain wear

Conveyor chains have a wide range of applications in various industries, but many people don't know enough about them, so they have never been concerned about their lubrication and maintenance, which will cause the wear of conveyor chains.

The wear of the conveyor chain mainly occurs between the pin and the sleeve. Wear will make the gap larger and the chain longer, until the chain cannot accurately mesh with the sprocket, or it cannot maintain the correct distance and timing. In addition, sometimes the wear between the roller and the sleeve or the wear between the chain plate and the guide plate can also cause the failure of the conveyor chain.

The lengthening of the conveyor chain due to wear is a gradual process, which roughly includes three stages: the first stage is the initial running-in. The protruding points on the pin and sleeve are worn away, and the small eccentricity is also worn away; the second stage is stable and slow lubrication and wear. At this stage, the pin is properly placed in the sleeve, and the bearing area is properly and adequately lubricated; the third stage is relatively fast final wear. In this stage, the lubrication may be invalid or invalid, the hardened layer of the surface of the pin and the sleeve is worn away, the chain becomes longer, etc., and finally the load of individual nodes is increased sharply.
